The community of Geneva Forum members involved in a governance of Ocean resilience from and through International Geneva is invited to join the next meeting of the Geneva Nexus: Oceans, Health and Food Security, which will be held on June 26, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., in Room XI at the Palais des Nations.
At the invitation of the Permanent Representation of Portugal, which asked the ECOSOC NGO Objectif Sciences International to relay the information, the Geneva Forum calls on its community to get involved in the efforts of the Geneva Nexus and to bring forward the proposals resulting from the work on governance of Ocean resilience from and through International Geneva.
This meeting will address the links between human health, Ocean health and food security. In particular, it will aim to strengthen coherence between environmental governance, health governance and food systems within the Geneva multilateral ecosystem. The programme includes contributions from the Permanent Representation of Portugal, representatives of WHO, UNEP and FAO, as well as national cases presented by Australia, Ghana, Japan and Mexico, before a general discussion and a conclusion by UNCTAD.
The expected outcomes focus on greater visibility for the Ocean–Health–Food nexus, the strengthening of partnerships and policy coherence, as well as a contribution to the preparations for UNOC-4.
The Geneva Forum community involved in a Governance of Ocean Resilience from and through International Geneva is encouraged to participate, contribute to the discussions and represent the lines of work opened on May 22: useful data, Participatory Science, global citizen mobilization, pilot projects, impact finance and the role of International Geneva as a space for operational connection in support of Ocean r
