Framework
Mediation, Citizen Diplomacy and financing Impact Projects: anticipating fractures to preserve Peace and global Security
Signs of instability are multiplying: geopolitical tensions, social fractures, climate crises, supply disruptions and forced migration are reshaping the world’s balances. In this context, traditional conflict prevention models can be complemented by citizen actions. As defense, stability and peace become everyone’s concern, security no longer stops at a military or diplomatic response but also becomes societal, cooperative, systemic and inclusive.
This year, the Geneva Forum places reflection at the heart of this transition, by introducing a key concept: Citizen Diplomacy — an approach that complements State diplomacy through the mobilization of civil, economic and scientific networks. It strengthens the collective capacity to prevent crises before they become uncontrollable.
Around intelligence leaders, international security officials, military personnel, researchers and major investors, the conference will explore how impact projects can become instruments of stability and shared prosperity. The aim will be to identify concrete models where peace becomes a strategic asset: a factor of competitiveness, economic attractiveness and sustainability for nations and companies.
In a shifting world, philanthropy and investments are seeking impact projects that make it possible to maintain Peace or restore it, while Geneva asserts itself as a laboratory of cooperative governance: where States, citizens and institutions can invent together the diplomacy of tomorrow - a diplomacy of anticipation, resilience and impact.
The discussions will take place in the form of a strategic Round Table and collaborative work, involving the entire audience in the construction of new operational approaches for long-term Peace and Security.
